GO1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Africa bird watching holiday starts at Entebbe airport where a company representative will meet and greet you before driving you to a hotel in Entebbe, check in and refresh, Introductory birding will start in the botanical gardens and along the shores of lake Victoria. Species of interest are: - Eastern Grey Plantain-eater, Herons,Weavers,Sunbird, Hornbills & Turacos. O/N: Imperial resort /African Root Guest house B/B

GO2: Africa birds, Mabamba Swamp

Early breakfast and with a parked lunch drive to Mabamba Swamp Wetland, located on the fringes of Lake Victoria and nearest site for the Shoebill, take up a paddled canoe to bird around the swamp in search of Lesser Jacana, Blue Swallow, Black-Shouldered kite, Blue Breasted Bee-Eater, Papyrus Gonolek, White Winged warbler, Carruther’s Cisticola ,Papyrus Gonolek, Spotting Swamp Flycatcher, ducks, plovers, gulls, egrets, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers. GO 3: Birding Mabira Forest reserve,

Mabira forest birding, Uganda’s primary forest south of the Jinja – Kampala road and biggest forest reserve birding in fine primary and good secondary forest as well as forest-edges. Look out for forest species like:- Black-throated Apalis, Forest Robin,Little Olive, Blue-throated Brown ,Superb Sunbirds, Wattle-eye, Red-headed Bluebill ,Black-bellied Seed cracker, African Shrike Flycatcher and Red-headed Malimbe amongst others. GO4: Rhino tracking, Shoebill stork

 Tracking Rhinos in Uganda’s wilderness, proceed to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, for a foot safari to the Rhinos after lunch get paddled around the swamp in search of swamp species the Shoebill stork, Rufous bellied heron, Kingfishers. O/N Masindi Hotel / Kabalega Resort F/B

GO5:  Budongo Forest reserve, Royal Mile

Bird Budongo forest, Pre dawn drive to the Royal Mile, Uganda’s best birding site for Nahan’s Francolin, Cassin’s Spine tail and Chestnut-capped Flycatcher.Whole day is spent birding along the forest road, look out for Chocolate-backed, African Dwarf Kingfishers, White-thighed, Black &;White casqued Hornbills, Western Black-headed Oriole and Purple-headed Glossy Starling. Other specials are White-throated and Honey guide Greenbuls, Brown-crowned Eremomela, Lemon-bellied Crombec and Yellow-mantled Weaver, Rufous Thrush, Green Hylia, Grey Long bill and Uganda Woodland Warbler. GO 6: Kaniyo Pabidi

Transfer to Kaniyo pabidi sector of Budongo forest for a forest birding and after lunch transfer to the top of the Murchison falls. O/N: Paraa Lodge/Murchison lodge F/B

GO 7: Bird watching in Murchison Falls National park

 Africa Birding vacation to Murchison falls, explore the many tracks on the northern bank and areas around park Head quarter at Paraa for some excellent species:- Blue-naped Mousebird, Silverbird, Buff-bellied Warbler, Black-headed Batis,Black-headed Gonolek, Chestnut-crowned Sparrow-weaver, White-rumped Seedeater, Yellow-throated Leaflove, Red-winged Grey Warbler, White-crested Turaco, Double-toothed Barbet, Grey Kestrel, Heuglin’s Francolin Abyssinian Ground Hornbill. Kibale forest birding, transfer to Kanyanchu and track chimps in their natural habitat. The forest supports different species of birds. In the afternoon visit Bigodi swamp famous birding sanctuary and overnight. O/N: Kibale forest cottage /Chimpanzee Guest House.F/B

GO10: Fort Portal – Queen Elizabeth National park

GO11: Queen Elizabeth National park

Uganda Birding in Queen Elizabeth Park, Start the day exploring the Kasenyi Track and the Kazinga Channel. Queen Elizabeth is famous for its water bird concentrations and Palearctic migrants. Species of interest:- herons, storks, plover, Water Thick-knee, kingfishers, terns, ducks and geese,cormorants, ibises and pelicans. The park supports a number of raptors, e.g Brown Snake Eagle, Bateleur and Martial Eagles vultures. O/N: Mweya lodge /Buffalo safari lodge F/B

GO12: Queen Elizabeth National park

GO14: Bird watching bwindi forest

 Africa birding tour, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest arriving in time for an afternoon bird walk in the Buhoma area, looking for Black-billed and Black-necked Weavers, Black Bee-Eater, Black and White Shrike Flycatcher, Pied Mannikin and much more. O/N:  Silver back/Crested crane hotel F/B

GO15: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Gorilla trekking is optional. Spend next days at the famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, in the rugged Kigezi Highlands of south western Uganda. This park supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda. There are many birds in this area, but we will be on the lookout for key endemics such as Red-throated Alethe, Red-faced Woodland Warbler, Montane Masked Apalis, Ruwenzori Batis, Neumann’s Warbler and. Other non-endemic specials:- Black-faced Rufous Warbler, Dusky Tit, Black Bee-eater, White-bellied Robin-chat and Sooty Flycatcher. O/N: Silver backlodge/Crested crane hotel F/B

GO16: Birding rift Edemics in Ruhinja

Early morning make your way towards Kitahurira, the neck of forest linking Buhoma to Ruhiza. This is the best site for Toro-Olive Greenbul, Cassin’s Grey Flycatcher and Western Bronze-naped Pigeon. O/N: Gorilla resort/Bakiga lodge/Brodbill forest camp F/B

 GO 17: Bird watching in Ruhija

Africa birding safari at least one day will be spent exploring the highland forest at Ruhija,some 800M higher than Buhoma, on a clear day one can see all the way to the Virungas. It has a dramatically different nature and avifauna; it is also the site with most of the Albertine endemics. Africa birds, endemic species:- Collared Apalis, Ruwenzori Hill Babbler, Grauer’s Warbler, Shelly’s Crimsonwing, Dusky Crimsonwing, Archer’s Robin-chat, Regal Sunbird, Blue-headed Sunbird, Dwarf Honeyguide and many others. The trail to Mubwindi Swamp promises to reveal some of the most difficult of all rift-endemics including the mythical African Green Broadbill. GO18: Bird in Lake Mburo Park

 Drive to Lake Mburo National Park and bird the Lakeside Track and Kigambira Loop to look for savanna and Acacia woodland species including Blue-naped Mousebird,Spot-flanked Barbet, Nubian Woodpecker, Northern Black Tit, Red-headed Lovebird,Green-capped Eremomela, Ross’ Turaco and the highly sought-after Red-faced Barbet. GO19: Lake Mburo National park. –Kampala

GO 20: Souvenir shopping.

Take the morning for souvenir shopping and later transfer to Entebbe airport for your home flight
